Iverson and Webber talk about the incident

In a good gesture, Allen Iverson and Chris Webber apologized for their actions in the victory over the Nets, when they didn't arrive to the arena until just before tip-off and then didn't sit on the bench. The players were on the bench for the 76ers' match at Charlotte, and coach Maurice Cheeks blamed the episode on a lack of communication.

The explanations from Iverson and Webber, interviewed separately outside the visitors' locker room at Charlotte Bobcats Arena before Wednesday night's 96-86 loss, raised even more questions about the situation Tuesday - Fan Appreciation Night - that prompted Sixers president and general manager Billy King to fine the players.

"I for sure wasn't trying to disrespect Mo in any way, or the fans, as everybody is talking about," Iverson claimed. "I've been here for 10 years, and to deliberately try to disrespect the fans, I would never try to do that in any way. I'm upset it Justificar a ambos ladoscame across this way."
